Why Plumbing Aren’t As Bad As You Think

Must Have Plumbing and Maintenance Tools for Every Home

Buying or renting a home comes with its own responsibilities. When you move to a new home or rent a new property, there are certain things you need to take care of to ensure that your home stays flawless. One of these things is plumbing. Plumbing is an important element of any home. A cracked, clogged or a burst pipe in your house can cause you a lot of inconveniences making your home even inhabitable. Repair expenses can be also very costly. It is therefore important that you take care of plumbing problems in as soon as possible in order to decrease the likelihood of unnecessary damage to your home. To be able to achieve this, here are a few tools and resources you must have in your home.

Knowing a Plumber

Occasionally some plumbing problems may be beyond what you may manage to repair or fix. It is thus crucial that you’ve got a plumber on call if things go wrong with your plumbing. There is nothing bothersome as spending a whole lot of time attempting to fix your plumbing system just to end up calling a plumber at the end. It is therefore important that you at least know somebody who can sort you out whenever you’re stuck. The easiest way to find a good plumber would be by searching the internet. First you type the name of town where you reside followed by the term pipes. For example, if you reside in Toronto you can search by typing “Toronto plumbing”.

Master Plunger

A master plunger is used to suck filthy water in the drain hole. Unlike regular plungers, a master plunger provides maximum suction at the drainage hole. A master plunger is also quite flexible and can be better at plunging as compared to routine plungers. In terms of cost, a master plunger costs only ten bucks at most stores thus making it a worthy investment in your home.

Toilet Auger

An auger is a long, flexible metallic coil which is connected to the drain hole and then pushed down the pipes via a rotational activity. An auger is relatively cheap and can be used to unclog your toilet when the plunger is not working. There are two types of augers, electric auger and hands -clanked auger. Electric augers are more successful.

Sink Auger

A sink auger simply works as a toilet auger. There only difference is how they’re shaped. A sink auger is just shaped like a drum in a machine gun. Compared to a toilet auger, a sink auger is less effective except that it can be fed into the main drainage pipe just below the sink.

Shop Vacuum and Buckets

Possessing a shop vacuum and a few buckets in your house will help you handle the occasional blockages on your drainage pipes. A shop vac comes with an attachment which makes it possible to interface with the sink drains and may be used to pull out filthy that builds up in your kitchen and bathroom sinks.
